Frequently Asked Questions
What does this Scrabble Solver do?
It takes the letters on your Scrabble rack, finds every valid word you can play, and shows the base Scrabble point value for each word. Words are grouped by length and sorted by score within each group, so you can quickly spot the highest-scoring plays available.
What are base scores and why aren't board multipliers included?
The score shown is the sum of each tile's face value. Board multipliers — Double Letter, Triple Letter, Double Word, Triple Word — depend on exactly where you place the word on the board, which this tool cannot know. Use the base score as a starting point: the same word placed on a Double Word square will be worth twice as much.
What is a Bingo?
A Bingo occurs when you use all 7 tiles from your rack in a single play. In Scrabble, this earns a +50 point bonus on top of the base tile score. Seven-letter words in your results are flagged with a Bingo indicator so you can spot them immediately.
How do I use blank tiles?
Enter a question mark (?) for each blank tile on your rack. The solver will find all words that require the blank to complete, but the blank contributes 0 points to the total score. You can use up to 2 blanks at a time.
What are the Scrabble tile values?
Standard English Scrabble tile values: A·1, B·3, C·3, D·2, E·1, F·4, G·2, H·4, I·1, J·8, K·5, L·1, M·3, N·1, O·1, P·3, Q·10, R·1, S·1, T·1, U·1, V·4, W·4, X·8, Y·4, Z·10. Blank tiles are worth 0.
Are the words in the official Scrabble dictionary?
This tool uses a broad English word list that covers the vast majority of standard Scrabble-valid words. Very rare or highly specialised terms may not appear. For official tournament play, always verify words against the current Official Scrabble Players Dictionary (OSPD) or Official Tournament and Club Word List (OWL/TWL).
How is this different from the Anagram Solver?
The Anagram Solver finds all words from your letters but doesn't show point values. This Scrabble Solver adds Scrabble scoring and Bingo detection, making it purpose-built for Scrabble strategy. For Words With Friends scoring, see the WWF Helper.
Is this tool free and does it work on mobile?
Yes on both counts. The Scrabble Solver is completely free with no account required and is fully optimised for mobile play.
